Length Of Chains

Length Of Chains

Walt: 1) Arrange length in order.
        2) Find mean, median, mode and range.
        3) Explain the differences in length.
Pairs
Length of Chain in centimeters
Ben and Dion
86
Wesley and Koliata
169
Lorenzo and Liam
170
Ifa and Tane
192
Alyssa and Shanelle
192
Andrea and Lana
200
Ketura  and Serena
220
Stephanie and Cherish
286
Petuana and Yazmin
304
Munokoa and Samuel
320
Viliami and Howard
383
Mean of this table is 229.3
Median is 200.
Mode is 192.
Range is 297.
OKAY MAN.jpg
The differences in the length. I think it's all different because of the cutting. Some of them cut it lengthwise and with width. Viliami’s chain was long because they took their time to cut it even and small. Ben and Dion was the shortest chain because they cut it with width. In the middle some were going to be long but the cutting was uneven which caused it to be in the middle. If we were to do this topic I would take our teachers advice. The thinner the chain the longer the chain.

In my maths test I got a 4b for number. I am just at my national standard. It felt easy while doing it. I am the red circle. I am very happy with my score. I improved because my teacher have been teaching us new skills.

Shape Mods

assddsdsd.PNG

In this game it about co-ordinates. It was fun and challenging at the same time. There was 18 levels and I only reached up to level 8. To complete the level you have to move the green square 10 co-ordinates left and then 5 co-ordinates down.

Watched RWC on Sunday morning

NOOICEEE.PNG

Walt: use online tools to draw double bar graphs.

Watch Did Not Watch
B   G B    G
10   5 3     7

First we collected the data by the show of hands. After that we used the online tools to draw it. It showed that more boys watched the rugby world cup more than girls. I think that boys watch the rugby world cup because it's their favourite sport. I also think that the others didn’t watch because they don't have sky. We were predicting the score on Friday. The closest score was Robin. His prediction was 32 - 17.

Deci Mat

First Picture: 1 whole is divided into tenths
Second Picture: 1 whole is divided into hundredths
Third Picture: 1 whole is divided into thousandths

First we had to play a game. In this game you had to roll two dice. The easy part was when you had to colour it in. So if you got five over hundredths then you colour then you colour in five in the hundredths sheet or mat. In the first picture the purple represents one tenth. In the second photo, the green in the left right corner represents five hundredths. In the last photo the black represents two thousandths. The next thing I'd like to learn is to know how to use the place values to solve problems with decimals.

Today we were playing a game about fractions, decimals and percentages. I had the most cards in our group. It was very funny because we were fighting over the cards. This game was very similar to memory.

Easttle - Maths

spo.PNG

In this e-asttle test I didn’t do very well. I am very below my national standard. I only progressed in the stuff that I knew. In this e-asttle test I need to learn how to classify numbers by factors and multiplication including prime numbers. The second one I need to learn is to write a fraction as a decimal, and a decimal as a fraction. In the next assessment I do I hope I would get a 4p and over.

Area Of Shapes

   HEHE.PNG

In this game it was testing me about the area of shapes. It was very easy for me, because I did it last year. I got 14 right and nothing wrong, which was 100%. The next thing I would like to learn is the same thing but with more harder questions.

Ratio Blaster

Capture.PNG

In this game it was very easy because I knew ratio very well. If you don’t ratio this game would be hard. I only got two answers wrong. I got 82% of this game right. Koliata and I were challenging each other. The challenge was who ever got 100 percent first they would be king. Next time I play this game I would try get 100% so I would be king.

Perimeter And Area

I remember perimeter by measuring that sides of a shape and then add it all up. I only have a little understanding  of it. I only know a little bit.

I remember area is like the outside of the shape or a object. If it was a farm house then the area would be around the farm house. I only have a little understanding of it. So I think I need to do homework and study very hard.

To help me with Area and Perimeter is by doing homework and asking my parents to do me some problems that include Area and Perimeter. I think I still need teaching.

I played the game and this was the score I got was two green smiley faces. Screenshot 2015-05-01 at 12.03.57 PM.png

Problem Solving With Mrs Bina

screenshot2015-02-04AM.jpg

Today I learnt maths with a different teacher.  Her name was Mrs Bina and she is the maths facilitator in New Zealand. Mrs Bina is very smart. Mrs Bina put us into groups of three but one group had four. It was difficult. The problem that she gave to us was about fractions. I learnt that three fifteenths is also one fifth. The next thing I would like to learn is integers.

This game was very easy for me because I had a good understanding of fractions. I got five right and nothing wrong. I am going to try get all my answers right. I have five answers left. I think I should of got a harder game then this. The next thing I want to learn is percentages.

Screenshot 2015-02-25 at 9.13.36 AM.png

In this game you had to hit the ball for points. The points were 6, 4 and two . This game was very easy and fun. It is cool because we can play it online. We are doing cricket problems this week because this year the cricket world cup is hosted in New Zealand.

Measurement

Screenshot 2015-03-05 at 9.59.15 AM.png

This is a measurement game. It was very easy because I knew what to do. For this game you had to measure the equipment that shows up. My score was 30 and that means I got a A+. Next time I will want to play a game that is harder.

Teaching my friend

Today Tane teached me square roots. It was too easy for me because I knew my time tables. I got a good understanding of it. A square root is 4 x 4 = 16 and 12 x 12 = 144. I got confused on number 11. After that I got the answer. The answer was 121.
